Increasing orders

Optional Feature

This is an optional feature that can be switched on for particular merchants.

Please discuss with your Customer Success Manager if you wish to use this feature, and you are not already.

After the Deferred Payment has been created, it may happen that the value of the order increases. For instance:

  • In food, it is commonplace for shipment values to be based on weight. There is often weight variance around the agreed order.
  • In logistics, often there are extra charges due.

You can capture beyond the authorisation that was reserved for the Deferred Payment. This avoids the need to create a new Deferred Payment for the extra amount. The value captured after the authorisation has been depleted to zero is Unprotected Capture. As above, we will pay out as usual but have the right to claw back this value in the event of default. Our collections team will attempt to collect unprotected amounts from the buyer.

Note

We do not currently support protecting the additional amount because this is not a decision-making step: rather, you are informing us of a change that has already happened. By applying the additional value as Unprotected Capture, we do not require credit limit availability. However, all Unprotected Credit is compared to Merchant Limits for future new orders.
